disclosure: exodians blog
The deranged mind behind the exodians blog: This time, “it is PERSONALAN!”
I am Darbs the anchorman – the deranged/peculiar/messed up mind behind the exodians blog.
I just want to remind everyone that I am not a writer/journalist/grammarian/editor/proof reader but I will try my very best to do my duty to love God and my country, pay my taxes and follow the cub scout oath.
Birthed of this blog: exodians blog was born and inspired by the courage of the 36 NDAS seminarians of the Roman Catholic Church who in November of 1987 1988 – against all odds – voiced out the truth – took their chances – fought the unbeatable foe – dream the impossible dream – bizarre that could be had the “balls” to change the (pedestal) institution they wanted to serve. As what they usually tell me at my end when my litany begins, WHATEVER! – just get it over with!
In Addition: Without those characters in my past I should be living peacefully and happily ever after. Without those characters in my past I have nothing to blog about. But those characters bothered me through all these years – in my goodnight sleep – through bad, bad dreams – and nightmares. . . And through blogging, I was able to KICK OUT/EXPEL those nightmares away. (Thank you wordpress! Thank you blogging!) Now, I can live happily ever after. Goodbye nightmares!
Different Perspective: Just like any story in life like koreanovela, soap opera, teledrama, there were many sides of the story on that fateful year of November 1987 1988. So, please consider the point of view of the HIGH MORAL AUTHORITY – the point of view of the protesters – point view of the passive compulsive prayer “lang ang among maamot” and the point of view of the outsiders/observers/whatever.
In seriousness: Please don’t take this blog seriously because if you do, according sa haka haka after sa isang Cultural Night na naganap sa seminary noong mag 4th year na kami before sa inaasam asam na investiture, na sabi pa nakaihi daw sa pantalon ang ispirilitsugas dahil na-iskandalays at sinabing… “ANO BA NAMAN KAYO… SINO ANG NAGPASIMUNO SA PALABAS NINYO, (naka-ihi tuloy ako)… totoo ba yan?” So please don’t… better solution is just stay away from this place or else magka dismonorya giod tawon mo.
In my Defense: I am also aware that there are powerful forces lurking around me – not as powerful as God though – but powerful enough to threaten my liberty and pursuit of happiness.
But don’t worry my friends because I know my rights as an AMERICAN CITIZEN! synonym with FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION.
Worst comes to worst I will introduce to you my last line of defense which is the ELECTRONIC FRONTIER FOUNDATION.
So help me God…

Forced myself to write: The article below was written in the height of the sexual abuse scandals inside the catholic church in the early years of 2000. Here is the little background “Reminiscing Better Man – Robbie Williams” on the night before and after I pressed the “Publish” button.
Nov. 2003 Remembrance
On November of 1987 1988, thirty-six seminarians were expelled from Notre Dame Archdiocesan Seminary in Cotabato City, Philippines. The story behind the seminarians’ expulsion had never been exposed to the public because it was agreed among the seminarians, with the request of Bishop Philip Smith that the incident was an internal problem and therefore must remain behind the seminary walls. For decades, the incident remained a secret.
The Year It Was
Year 2002, the code of silence within the Catholic Church had been cracked. Sexual abuses committed by priests were exposed. Victims upon victims came forward to tell their stories. Their testimonies laid bare the horrific experiences by the hands of priests. Priests who had been proven guilty were imprisoned. Priests who fathered children were stripped from their priestly duties. High-ranking church officials protecting sexual predator priests were forced to resign. With this turn of tide, we could no longer just sit, watch and listen. As witnesses of the Church journey, we too have the responsibilities to tell our stories.
Gone are the days when we were gagged with the belief that only those who are ordained priests and bishops have control of the truth and righteousness. Gone are the days that we applauded and condoned the bishops’ decision to our fate. Gone are the days where priest who was known to had blatantly engaged in sexual activities could continue to enjoy his priestly duties and privileges while others who committed the same act of sexual misconduct are already in prison and stripped from their duties.
The day has come that the voices of the past will come alive. Today, those voices can be heard again through this website. The Exodians website is a reminder that once upon a time there were seminarians from Notre Dame Archdiocesan Seminary who were not afraid to tell the truth and that the consequence of their actions was severely punished – en masse expulsion and had branded their action as “evil possessed.”
2009 came, “Evil Possessed?” I DON’T THINK SO!
